My voice studio

Hi! I’m Jimena, a professional singer and voice teacher with a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance. With nearly a decade of teaching experience, I’ve helped singers of all ages and backgrounds develop strong, healthy, and expressive voices.

About the studio

At my studio, I specialize in both contemporary and classical vocal techniques, giving you the best of both worlds. While most of my students focus on contemporary commercial music (CCM) like pop and musical theatre, my background as an opera singer gives me a deep understanding of vocal technique, breath control, and resonance—essential skills for any style of singing. Whether you're looking to refine your belting and mixing for commercial music or develop a strong foundation in classical singing, I tailor each lesson to help you reach your unique vocal goals. My students include passionate amateur singers of all ages, from young performers in choir and musical theatre programs to adults looking to improve their skills. I offer personalized, one-on-one lessons that fit your schedule and musical aspirations—wherever you are!

Why I teach both Contemporary & Classical Techniques

Many singers specialize in one style, but a well-rounded technique makes you a more versatile and confident performer. Classical training builds vocal strength, control, and longevity, while contemporary techniques focus on flexibility, style, and dynamic expression. Having expertise in both allows me to help students develop a healthy, adaptable voice that can tackle any genre with ease.

Did you know?

  • Belting isn’t just about singing loudly—it’s a controlled technique that requires proper breath support and resonance placement to avoid vocal strain.

  • Mixing allows singers to transition smoothly between their chest and head voices, creating a powerful yet effortless sound used by top vocalists today.

  • Classical training can improve breath support, vocal stamina, and clarity, even if you primarily sing pop or musical theatre.

What Does a Lesson Look Like?

Every lesson is split into two parts: technique and repertoire.

In the technique portion, we use targeted vocal exercises to find and strengthen your natural voice, expand your range, and develop new skills. Whether it’s learning to belt safely, smoothing out vocal breaks, or working on breath control, this part of the lesson gives you the foundation you need to sing with confidence.

The repertoire portion is where we apply those skills to songs! You can bring in any songs you’d like to work on, or I can suggest pieces that match your voice and goals. We’ll focus on vocal technique, musical interpretation, and stage presence. If you’re preparing for an audition, we’ll work on polishing your performance so you can shine.
